Pierre’s Hole, once known for fur trade in the Northern Rockies, has always been a test of endurance, fortitude, and strength. On Saturday, August 5, 2017, Pierre’s Hole 50/100 will provide an incredible experience to the fortunate souls entered in this epic journey. The race course views are breathtaking, the singletrack is longer and better than ever, and you will be tested by the rugged terrain. Staging for the race begins at the Grand Targhee Resort, where ample lodging and amenities await racers and their families.
Racer Registration is open for 100 Mile (3 laps), 100km (2 laps), 50km (1 lap) events.
100 mile and 100km races qualify to the NUE Series Marathon Championship.

Racer Meeting & Check-In
Racer info and check in will be held at Grand Targhee Rendezvous Conference Room South (upstairs in main base lodge building) at 4:00pm – 6:30pm on Friday, August 4th. Racers will receive bike plates, timing chip and swag bags along with answering any questions regarding the course and race. Any racers who can’t make the Friday check in will be able to pick up plates Saturday morning 5:45am – 6:45am (100 mile) upstairs in RCR South (upstairs in main base lodge building). 100k and 50km race can check in Saturday am from 7:05 – 8:30am for 1 lap racers. All racers must start in their listed start time or risk being DQed.

- 100 mile starts at 7:00 am
- 100 K- Open men, Open Women, Single speed- 8:10am
- 100 K- Vet Women, Vet Men, Master Men, Master Women- 8:15am
- 50 K- Open men, Men’s Single speed- 8:40am
- 50 K- Open Women, Women’s Single speed- 8:45am
- 50 K- Vet Men, Master Men- 8:50 am
- 5o K- Vet Women, Master Women- 8:55am
The cut off times for racers to start their last lap will be 4:15pm. Buckle winner times will be 10:15 men and 11:15 women.
A Mexican dinner will be server in the racer tent, free for all racers. Racers will family can purchase additional dinner tickets for at the dinner line. Food will be served from 12:00 -7:00pm.
The course will have the start/ finish just off the main plaza at Grand Targhee Resort. The course will be marked with blue directional arrows and course tape, starting August 1st. The course is 30 miles long first lap with estimate of 4019’of climbing 1st lap. The first lap will ride out the Powder Reserve Traverse road from the start, remaining laps will use Action Jackson trail. Laps 2 and 3 are 35 miles with 4241’ of climbing per lap.
1st lap – Ride out Powder Reserve Traverse Road, Left on to Peaked Trail, Climb Peaked to 38 Special Trail. Descend 38 Special Trail and continue down Mill Creek Trail, to intersection of Cold Springs trail turn right. Continue to the upper section of Ski Hill Road to Grand Targhee Resort, turn left on the road just prior to the Targhee front gate (parking lot 5) and turn left on to Jolly Green Giants trail around to Land of the Lost/ Roundabout Trail to the Targhee base area. Ride mtn service road around base area and up to Shoshone rd, turn left on to Nordic trail road turn left on to upper Yogi trail back on service road to Flyover and out to Rick’s basin trails. Ride the Rick’s Basin Loop counter clockwise, More Cow Bell to Perma- grin to Rick’s, North Woods and Quakie. The last part of the lap will be on Snow drift and across Pike Traverse back on Yogi to the base area.
Laps 2, 3 – Ride out Action Jackson trail and around the Buffalo Soldier, continue up Peaked Trail. Descend down 38 Special Trail and continue descending Mill Creek Trail, turn right onto Cold Springs trail After Cold Springs trail turn right onto to the upper section of Ski Hill Road to Grand Targhee Resort, turn left on the road just prior to the Targhee front gate (parking lot 5) and turn left on to Jolly Green Giants trail around to Land of the Lost/ Roundabout Trail to the Targhee base area. Aid Stations – There will be 3 feed zones along the course.
Aid #1 – 11 miles on first lap/15.8 on laps 2-3 and is located at the end of Cold Springs road.
Aid #2- bottom of the Shoshone lift/ music venue at 17.5 for the first lap and 22 for laps 2-3.
Aid #3 – just before start/finish top of the music venue at mile 35 of a full lap.
Racers can drop off coolers and bags at each aid zone before they race. Feed bags going to Aid #1 need to be at racer check in ½ hr before each race. Aid #2 & water station are only a few hundred feet from the start/finish.
